It’s that time of year again—summer trips are winding down and school is almost back in session. And while we are already gearing up for fall and winter furnace tune-ups, there’s another pressing matter that has our attention.
Did you know that thousands of West Michigan kids are at risk of going hungry when they’re home from school every weekend? Cheri Honderd recognized this problem back in 2008 when she started Hand2Hand, a ministry that provides weekend breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack items for kids throughout West Michigan. Since then, Cheri’s personal mission has grown into a multi-agency program that works with schools and churches to serve more than 5,000 kids!
As Hand2Hand has grown, so has the need. That’s why Baumann & DeGroot is joining the cause to help provide nutritious breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack items for kids who are experiencing food insecurity every weekend. From now until October 1, 2018, we will fill one backpack for every furnace tune-up we do. And for every purchase of a new furnace, we will fill an entire month of backpacks.
Of course, we can’t do any of this without YOU. So when you’re planning for all your furnace needs this fall, think of all the lives you will impact simply by scheduling a tune-up.
Thank you for continuing to help us help those who need it the most. To find out more about Hand2Hand, please visit their website at https://h2hkids.org.
